As an avid Five finger fan living in Michigan, I was delighted to try a winter style boot. I also ordered the cheetah boot. I have a very narrow foot. When I first tried the shoe, I was disappointed by the width, excess fabric and length of the strap. It did not fit like the typical a??glovea?? of other five fingers. I contacted the company. They suggested I try the socks that accompanied the boots. The black five tie ankle socks provided a more comfortable and proper fit. In fact I am now a fan of wearing socks with the winter style shoes. My feet do not sweat and the shoes do not create and retain odors like my other five fingers. The next problem to solve was the strap. It was two inches too long for my narrow foot. The Velcro pieces did not align. I prefer a hugging type fit. I did not want to cut or resew the strap. The solution came when I knotted the strap as a way to shorten it. A relatively snug fit resulted with a cute knot embellishment. I now like the shoes very much. They are festive, warm and comfortable. I like the thicker sole, though it changes the minimalist feel of the ground. The positive is I do not feel the coldness of the ground and feel secure due to the tread. I applied the same solutions to the cheetah shoes as well. I contacted the company again to inquire about a second pair of the black five toe ankle socks so that I could have one for each pair of shoes. They offered a different sock available from the website and I am still awaiting its arrival.
